Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Barbara Inman Beall grew up listening to her father’s stories that were handed down to him by his mother. Dr. Beall obtained her B.A. in English (Magna Cum Laude) from Mount Mercy College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, an M.S. in Technical Communications from the University of Colorado at Denver, and a Ph.D. in English with emphasis in Rhetoric & Linguistics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Beall taught College Composition for over twenty years before retiring in 2009.
